@Theoldcarchannel. Senpai, many questions. What gauge+type sheet metal, what size rod/wire, do you think TIG is better on sheet metal repair involving deteriorated metal versus MIG, what advice would you give someone trying to save one of these cars from a slow rusty death who's not experienced with sheet metal but 3/16 - 1/2 inch plate, and lastly how would you handle structural deterioration, have you ever used pieces from Autokrafter? Imma go watch the rest of your videos now......
I can comfirm the story, I've fought in 'nam with this guy, he used to tell me that when he'd come home he would take his challenger down to Alabama and start a shrimp fishing business, he never came back, but now I'm the leader of the bubba gump shrimps co
Just got a 1969 coupe seeing some points underneath to check on mine. Looks mostly solid though. Helpful vid fellas
Becuase we needed to see, and you had the perfect example! Thanks!!!!!
Thats a 1969 model
It’s a 70, with 69 front clip and 69 tail light panel
What has become of this 1967 Cougar? I have a 67 that has a seized engine and will be doing this project with my son. Thanks
The c2 is so much nicer looking than th c3 in my eyes 😊
Nice. Ride. I'm trying to put some 15" spokes on my 13 Accent. But ran into the four lug problems. So I jumped on YT in search for solutions. And came across this video. Cool beans
Mopar power 😊
It’s a nice car and if you take your time as it comes back to life in its schedule you will get the reward of 1963s best and understated car.
I think the rings are stuck. I would pour some JB down the carb and let it set the rings free. Let the cam rebreak in.
Rust grinde awat and a litt creative welding

It was originally owned by the real legend and I’m sure he ragged the hell out of that car but then his idiot son decided to let it go
Any 289 is worth working on & getting to run. One of Ford’s best little engines❗️🥊
High Performance 289...sweet!
me again, is there a powertour vid on this beast somewhere?!
Not yet, unfortunately life has been busy lately so haven’t been able to edit much
all good mate , we get it ! & look forward to it !@@Theoldcarchannel.
What engine do you have in the fastback?
89 5.0.
I have 70 428 CJ Mach 1 working to restore at this time! Good stuff
Awesome! Gotta love a 70 CJ!
Hi guys. My names Rob, and I live in Queensland Australia. I owned a 64 Fairlane when I was 18. I worked for the whole year to save up and buy one. But silly me, I crashed her a few years later. Anyway, now I'm 35, finalised a lenghty legal settlement and im looking to treat myself and I've decided to do it all again (without the accident). There's an ORIGINAL 64, black with red interior, two towns south of me and it's only had one previous owner. Amazing luck. I'm no mechanic, but I have a decent amount of cash to spend on this. So... I was wondering if I could somehow bounce a few things off of you guys somehow, maybe via email or even here.
Hello Rob, that’s awesome! Feel free to respond on here or shoot me an email: info@theoldcarchannel.com and I’ll be happy to help you out wherever I can. Cheers, Mike
Love this build sounds great. I have a mostly original 65 comet caliente with the original 3.3 200 but needs a rebuild. The blow by is getting bad burning a liter of oil a week. Can you recommend someone to do the rebuild ? It's beyond my abilities and I don't have a space.im in langley B.C
Hello Richard, that’s awesome! Not many people with 65 Comets! Unfortunately I don’t know anyone out that way for engine work… but I’ll ask my buddy who lives in BC as well and see if he knows anyone 👍
Nice build Mike, hope to see more video's soon buddy
when changing the front spindle from a V8, did any other front suspension components have to change from a V8? TIe Rods, Control Arms, Linkages? Thanks
Don't think that build needs the Rocks pep talk. Nice Fairlane
Really appreciate the videos!! Great job. Is there anyway you could post the part numbers for your Qa1 setup? I have a 64 fairlane as well, and really like the stance. I know they don’t even have a 64 listed on there website. Thanks again. Also are y’all gonna post any videos of the trip on power tour?
I can try to cobble the part #s together. You’ll need to make a hat similar to what I did in order for it to work. Yes will be posting a HRPT video, just editing it all right now👍
Glad to hear it!! And yes was definitely planning to do the hat as well! Thank you
How to reduce the HP on your C2 using factory parts. But they are the best trouble free side exhaust ever put on a car. 🏆
Most reales vid on the internet when unzeising a motor…. Love the “so we just bought some diesel”😂❤
This is a very nice car. I drove a fairly new one in the 1960s. 289ci V8, c-4 trans. You could buy one new with a 289ci Hi-performance V8 that was 271HP, with a 4 speed manual that was about a 2,700# car = 1 hp per 10# of car.
That engine sounds great. Great job guys
Throw those cork gaskets away n put a bead of rtv there next time
🌺 promo sm
Brings back memories of the car I had in 1984. I had a sports coupe model with the center console and the 260 / 2 speed auto. That steering wheel isn't original, the Bakelite steering wheels would crack and break so that's what probably happened to the first one. If you try to put a newer transmission behind the original 289 you will find it won't work. Up until 65 they had a 5 bolt bellhousing and went to the 6 bolt to use an 11 inch clutch. That car is asking for a 429.
Does this apply to a 1967 Galaxie LTD?
No this is different. I’ve attached a link below for 67 galaxie brakes leedbrakes.com/ag-1148757.1148653.1148707-1967-ford-galaxie-500.html
Plastic timing chain gear pieces in oilsump
Love it! Now it just needs a proper restoration. ; )
Never 😂 too much fun driving it as is
Did this one get a 302 swap?
Yes, 89 5.0L
She sounds awesome 👍
Thank you, 2 1/2 Flowmaster kit
Brother just leave it MANUAL STEERING !!
So excited my dad has a 65 fastback that’s been sitting in his garage for 30 years since I was a little guy. He always thought me and my brother would get into cars but we didn’t until I turned about 26 then I really started liking to work on them. Thanks for giving us an idea of where to start this project off hoping to find a space to take the pony to this summer so we can have a cool father son project!
